This is from a recent visit to London, shortly after rain and clouds (nearly) cleared for a somewhat decent blue hour image. I like it enough to post, so here it is!
The Palace of Westminster, located in the city of Westminster in central London, in it's current form was built between 1840 and 1870 after it was destroyed by fire in 1834. The Grade I listed building and UNESCO World Heritage Site is more commonly known as the Houses of Parliament. The palace is one of the main centres of UK politics as this is were the House of Commons and the House of Lords are situated. The tower, which is known as Big Ben is the nickname for the great bell of the clock at the north end of the palace. The tower is now officially called, the Elizabeth Tower, after being renamed in 2012 (from "Clock Tower") to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II.
